The Demystification Committee is undertaking an enquiry into the tactics, systems and structures of power embedded in offshore practices as part of the Vilém Flusser Residency for Artistic Research, offered in partnership by transmediale and the Vilém Flusser Archive at the Berlin University of the Arts.
The Committee proposes to create an Offshore Invstigation Vehicle, using the frameworks of offshore finance as a shield to investigate it from within. Selecting the project, the jury write that they
especially valued the political nature of the project as combined with a sensitivity for the aesthetics of offshoring and the provocative nature of the experimental methodology, formulated as a ‘research threat’.
