PLANE OF THESEUS is a focus group on the themes of software virtualisation and corporate financialization, taking the ongoing Boeing 737 Max crisis and grounding as a case study. Guided by the expertise and participation of a trained 737 Max pilot, the focus group aims to interrogate if, how and when a plane ceases to be a plane.
As part of the focus group, participants analyse the Boeing plane as a system impacting its own actions through virtualisation and the Boeing Company as a system impacting its own value through financialization. Participants are prompted to produce screen based responses to the questions posed to them, with outcomes ranging from websites to games.- 2020 (focus group)
